Quick Draw: Poses

I found this idea on the Campaign for Drawing site. Neat idea that we can also do, maybe in one of the Art Workshops?

Poses
20-second poses, pupils using black paper and chalk. After each drawing, children moved three places and drew again on someone else’s drawing in a different coloured chalk. Gallery time prompted discussion about the experience and the drawings. Pupils returned to their original drawing and had to change it into something else. What could they see coming from the drawing? Drawings were held aloft so that pupils could share.

Materials Needed:
  • Black or white drawing paper (maybe butcher or roll paper)
  • Chalk or markers
  • Large area to roll out the paper and section off sections for participants
Volunteer Help needed:
  • Parents to help set up the drawing area and distribute markers
  • Parents to help move the kids along when it's time to change 'stations'
  • Parents to help clean up and get the kids to clean up (having the kids help clean up and put away things will always be a part of the ART Attacks)
  • Parents to help roll up the artwork for future display or for the next time we do this activity (we can even re-use the same artwork and just add to it until the canvas/paper is filled up with drawings)
